Aesthetic Possibilities of Building Thermal Control through Colored Envelopes

The possibilities of obtaining efficient building thermal control by means colored envelopes while maintaining broad aesthetic options have been evaluated. use bilayers, where the inner layer presents strong solar absorbent or reflectance properties, outer provides visible coloration, represents a feasible way. A representative set twenty bilayers spanning color palette has studied in two configurations, static and dynamic. dynamic configuration allows for switching between absorptive reflective states. Simulations carried out total nineteen locations around world, representing main habitable climates according to Köppen–Geiger climate classification. Comparative results zones this approach may significant impact obtained, identification out. simpler is recommended tropical climates, whereas could be effective moderate (within arid temperate classification). Possible savings cold are negligible.
